*Switched majors many times, because I was told many times I would not make money in the field of Psych. Tried the following majors:
-Chemistry
-Biology
-I.T.
-Journalism
-Communications
*Also was involved in other activities as well:
-Wrote music commentaries and edited for aXis Magazine
-Wrote a music column for Citybeat Magazine
*Had part time jobs which included the following:
-Best Buy Customer Service Rep (didn't want to do retail)
-TGI Friday's Hostess and Server (didn't want to work with food)
-Server for the VIP Club for the Orlando Magic (same as above)
-Bank One Collections Rep (didn't want to work in collections)
-Suntrust Teller (didn't want to work with money)
-Internship in Human Factors at UCF
-Administrative for Wellspring Institute: Rehabiliation Center
-BGCCF/Neighborhood Center for Families Admin Assistant (moved up in the company)
Crystallization (22 yrs-old to Present)
*I chose to go back to my Psych major at UCF, graduated in 2005 (first in family to graduate from College)
*Started my Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern in 2007
*Decided I wanted to be a Mental Health Counselor
*Helped my husband start his own business
*From 22-26 worked jobs in order to pay for school and general bills such as:
-BGCCF/ Neighborhood Center for Families Neighborhood Coordinator (moved up in company)
-BGCCF Database Analyst (wanted to focus on school)
Specification (Present)
*Quit job at BGCCF
*Received practicum internship at Seminole Community Mental Health, Inc. (will begin in August of 2008)
*Working part time as a booking manager for bands at a local venue
Specification (Future)
*Graduate with my Master's in Mental Health Counseling
*Apply to Ph.D. or PsyD programs
*Become liscensed
*One day open my own practice
*Maybe become a professor
